You're absolutely right about Fugitive Telemetry breaking the chain of narrative. I'm interested to see whether they save narrative advancement for the novels and go with contained narratives for the novellas. Assuming they're still doing both -- the signs are confusing on that front.

I loved The Starless Sea but was in the minority of my book club on that one. It does, however, have a very low-key reference to Jonanthan Strange and Mr Norrell in it, which delights me even more now that I've read Piranesi
