Good point, not one that occurs to me regularly as a SWM, but clearly valid. For me I look at the absence of disabled characters and how much I'm not reflected in what I read, and extend that recognition to realize how much it applies to other minorities. We may see slightly different problems, but the effects, and the solution are similar.
