Disaster
It was one of those disasters
where I missed the warning signs.
The debris began arriving at my breakfast table
spewing out of my smartphone
to be eaten up with the muesli.
No natural disaster, this—
only volcanoes of anger
as the fault lines
running through my precious work
rumbled
cracked open
gaped wider
until all that remained
was rubble.
