As many of you may know, my nephew was born today. I wrote most of this while waiting to visit.

Wake
to a
message tone
at one a.m.
with expected news:
a baby boy is here!
Welcoming a new member
To the family is a first--
not just for his parents, but for me;
all of us learning and awed together.
