I haven't read those, either; it's really pitiful how little fiction I read *chuckles.* But I'll have to look into it, because it sounds right up my alley.
And I totally agree; there needs to be more "alternative angels" as opposed to just glowy dude with wings. I have four different writing projects featuring angels and none of them fall into the "dudes with wings" category. They range from monstrous creatures to radiant energy beings to animalistic hominids.
