(Yeah, birthday season is kicking my butt.)

Halfway through a reread of The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch, since my book club is due to discuss it tomorrow night. I find that I continue to stand by my review from several years ago. The Republic of Thieves really put a dampener on the series for me, so the reread has been reminding me of what I loved about the first book. It's also a media touchstone for the ttrpg Blades in the Dark and I can really see how it influenced the game.

I'm also partway through the third John Wick movie and enjoying seeing Halle Berry get to be a badass once again. Also, seriously impressed by the training of the animals they used in the movie.
And I finally started in on The Umbrella Academy. I was a bit worried the characters would all turn out to be unlikeable, but the show has done a good job of showing their redeeming qualities along with their flaws.
