I'm supposed to be writing at the moment but I got tired of staring at a blank page. I hope that getting some words down here--even if on a completely different topic--might help me to get things moving again.

The pain in my arms continues to come and go. I was just about back to normal before I spent a couple of days house sitting for a family friend last week. There were a couple of things that set me off while I was away. By the time I had figured out what they were I was due to come home. I am feeling fine now and the swimming session I managed today should help keep it that way.

House sitting did have its up side. The house is gorgeous and has a deck with a lovely view. I was also in charge of two cats. These cats were so much less demanding than my dogs and it was a nice change (though I shall always be a dog person at heart).

I also got lots of reading done. I'd had grand plans for getting lots of writing done, but pain levels put a stop to that. Instead, I finished off Prickle Moon by Juliet Marillier and then devoured Fire and Hemlock by Diana Wynne Jones. I have to thank [personal profile] sweet_sparrow for the recommendation--I think I have found a new favourite book. It's a rare book that has me looking forward to reading it once I have finished it the first time.

I keep meaning to ask you what you thought of Prickle Moon. I remember you saying one of the stories was traumatising. I assume they weren't all so heavy?

Adding Fire and Hemlock to my Goodreads "to-read" list. It looks excellent!
