Bout of Books #21

Round 21 of Bout of Books wrapped up on Sunday, so it’s time for me to check in with my progress!

In my sign-up post, I mentioned my goal was to get through a minimum of three books. One of the books on my list, The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty, was over 500 pages, so I was concerned I was being a bit too ambitious. However, the book was less dense than I was expecting and I made it through. I also finished reading Hunger Makes the Wolf by Alex Wells (which I’d started prior to the challenge) and two-thirds of Ironheart by Jodi McAlister. So, it wasn’t exactly three books, but altogether I read a little over 1000 pages. I’m calling that a win.

I got most of 4 books read - I'd read 20 pages of 'Throne of Glass' before signing up to the readathon. I'm delighted with how much I read and got through and I'm really in the midst of enjoying reading atm.

You did such a good job of powering through it! It was awesome to see your updates on Twitter. I'm glad you're enjoying your reading at the moment. What are you currently making your way through?

I've slowed down a bit to enjoy some video gaming again, but I'm part way through 'Casket of Souls' which is the next book after 'The White Road' in Lynn Flewelling's 'Nightrunner' series. I really am enjoying these characters and I'm so delighted that I discovered there were more books in the series to read! I feel like I'm already making headway into my backlist :)

I read about the same amount in terms of books but I think you read more in terms of pages. I think 1000 pages in a week is pretty good going!

I somehow missed you were doing Bout of Books. Three books is a pretty good effort! I love that they run this challenge so early in the year. Gets things off to a good start.
