Tidbinbilla redux - Part One: Mammals

I'm going to have to start thinking of better titles for these things, since I foresee more photography trips out to Tidbinbilla in the future.

This particular one took place on 17 January with my sister and two little nephews. We had a wonderful time.

There aren't too many mammals from this trip. It was mostly about the reptiles and birds.









The scenery at Tidbinbilla changes a lot and the photo below is intended to give an idea of some of it. I'm not entirely sure whether the foreground is natural grassland or was at one stage cleared for farming. I suspect the latter, but couldn't swear to it. In the distant background, you can also still see some of the skeletal grey of trees damaged in the last lot of serious bushfires.



Below, a willy wagtail catches a lift.



The wallaby below was right by the side of the road. I didn't even get out of the car to shoot the photos.

WALLABY!!!! Ahhhh, these are so wonderful.

Thank you! There are a few wallabies out at Tidbinbilla, but they tend to be a bit shy. So I was surprised this one stuck around when the car pulled up.
