I finished off Musketeer Space by Tansy Rayner Roberts last night. It did an admirable job of luring me away from Guardian fanfic for a while. Highly recommended if you like a (mostly) gender-swapped retelling with plenty of adventure, intrigue, kissing, banter and snark.

I meant to move on with Killing Gravity by Corey J. White, but had a bit of a rough evening. So, I picked up Joyeaux, which is a prequel novella to Musketeer Space. The humour is comforting and I thought it would be a good idea to get through it while the characters are still fresh in my mind.

I'm up to ep. 37 of my Guardian rewatching. I'm thinking of holding off on the last few episodes for now.

Sahaquiel and I finished off The Dark Crystal: Age of Rebellion last night. Wow, did it lean into its horror tropes. The original movie freaked me out as a kid, but I remember little of it. I thought I might do better with the series since I'm an adult now... and I did, but it's certainly not something I'd care to tackle again.

Those last couple of episodes of Guardian are rough, so I can see why you might not want to rewatch them.

Yeah, I won't be rewatching the Dark Crystal show I think, unless I want frames to inspire art colour palettes, it was *very* dark. I felt like the original movie was more spooky and eldritch and while it had horror elements, it was 'dark' because its atmosphere was dark. But this was just...intensely horror and even gore focused. Like bodily pus exploding into the scientist's face repeatedly, or learning that the skeskis' have three penises because we get to see one urinating for long enough that you can count the streams. It just seems...like they made some weird choices lmao.
