Dewey's readathon kicked me out of my mini reading slump, as hoped. I'm now currently rereading Exit Strategy by Martha Wells for my book club on Friday night. This is the last book in the Murderbot diaries, a series of sci-fi novellas about a rogue security cyborg. The voice of Murderbot is so perfect--funny and so relatable as it tries to keep its loved ones safe and strike the right balance between looking more human and staying true to itself.

The No.367 Collins falcons chicks are almost the size of their parents now. The feathers on their wings are almost all through and the chicks flap them around a lot, wandering up and down the long, narrow windowsill their nest is located on... often out of shot.
Last night, Sahaquiel and I wrapped up a rewatch of the Red Cliff movies by John Woo, mostly so Sahaquiel could remember who was who for his game of Total War: Three Kingdoms. Unsurprisingly then, these are a pair of historical dramas retelling the famous battle and showcasing a number of heroic, historical figures. Once again, I really enjoyed the movie. It does an excellent job of balancing a large cast and has some fantastic fight sequences.
We've also started in on the second season of Carmen Sandiego. It's an animated series based loosely off the computer game from the 90s. However, this time around the titular character is the good guy, stealing famous treasures ahead of the villains and then returning them to the people. It's a fun show with some lovely character development and likes to slip in some facts about the location de jour.
