November Project: Days 18-26
Nov. 26th, 2013 09:05 pmI have been feeling a bit overwhelmed and out of sorts over the last week and a half. Editing has picked up and I haven't had as much time for my November Project efforts as I'd like. I'm hanging in there, but I feel like I've not been giving it my best.
Somewhere along the way, I have lost the attributions for the icons I've been using in this journal. I've tracked down the ones I can and am looking at replacing those I've lost. One of the ones I lost was my Mt TBR icon. The photo I took on Day 3 made such a lovely replacement for my writing icon that on Day 18 I thought I would try photographing a replacement Mt TBR icon. Below is a tiny (tiny!) portion of my Mt TBR with its guardian--a giant puppet called Aurelius.

Day 19 involved an attempt at repurposing an old birthday card as a "thinking of you" note for a friend who has been going through a tough time (in fact, that has been true of a number of friends recently *sends hugs*). I'm still not quite finished with that yet--there was a small hiccup and I haven't finished gathering the materials I need to complete it.
Day 20 was How Are You haiku over on
jjhunter's journal.
Thunderstorms rolled on on Day 21, sending my pain levels soaring. I retreated to the couch and spent the day reading. It has so far been the only day I have missed on my November Project.
Of course, the thunderstorms of Day 21 did make for some lovely clouds on Day 22. Unfortunately, I didn't get the polarising filter sitting quite right, so you can see it in the top edges of the photo. However, I am quite fond of the cute little cumulus down at the bottom.

On Day 23 I stumbled across this wonderful article on ways to take better iPhone photos. It taught me quite a number of things and I have signed up for the self portrait course running in February. I took the following photo of Chippa while experimenting.

Not being satisfied with my photo of Aurelius (it doesn't shrink well), I made a couple more attempts at a Mt TBR icon. Still not satisfied with these, either.

By Day 24 I was feeling particularly discouraged with my November Project efforts. Realising I had fallen into a pattern of thinking that I had to do either photography or poetry, I unearthed the list of ideas I had made at the beginning of the month. I spent the evening working on a Zentangle, helped along by a demo video on YouTube. It wasn't anything fancy, but it helped relax me and break me out of the rut I was in.
I spent some time on Day 25 working on the story bible for Wolfwinter. I have a little bit left to go and then it will be on to sorting out the mess that is the plot.
Today my sister was visiting over this side of town, so I got a chance to see her and my nephew. The last time I saw them both was the day that he was born. My sister was looking significantly better and my nephew was as cute as ever--as you can see for yourself.
