calissaThis edition is particularly geared towards Australian speculative fiction writers. However, all writers may be interested to know that HarperCollins are taking unsolicited manuscripts on Wednesdays no matter where you are from and across a variety of genres.
The finalists for the Aurealis Awards have been announced. For those unaware, the Aurealis Awards are panel-judged awards for Australian writers of speculative fiction. The winners will be announced in early April.
The counterpart to the Aurealis Awards is the popularly determined Ditmar Awards. Nominations are now open and a partial eligibility list can be found here. Voting will be open to members of the current and previous national SF convention. My short story "Phoenix Down" is eligible for nomination (though I would be very surprised if it makes the shortlist).
