Aaaaallll the way back in September, I attended the local flower festival. Just to make things confusing, this was separate from my visit to the tulip farm I attended around the same time. I've been meaning to post the photos for months.
It was still early in the season and a lot of flowers weren't out yet. Nevertheless, there were some very fine tulips.






Below is a sculpture sponsored by the Australian War Memorial. For a donation, you could add a fake poppy to the wall. The overall effect was quite striking, though difficult to photograph well.

In the native garden, they had some gorgeous kangaroo paw.

Date: 2015-12-09 05:11 am (UTC)I understand kangaroo paw is awesome for ikebana, especially because there is quite a range in size. And some of the colours are gorgeous (though the one in the photo is my favourite).
