Aaaaallll the way back in September, I attended the local flower festival. Just to make things confusing, this was separate from my visit to the tulip farm I attended around the same time. I've been meaning to post the photos for months.
It was still early in the season and a lot of flowers weren't out yet. Nevertheless, there were some very fine tulips.






Below is a sculpture sponsored by the Australian War Memorial. For a donation, you could add a fake poppy to the wall. The overall effect was quite striking, though difficult to photograph well.

In the native garden, they had some gorgeous kangaroo paw.

Date: 2015-12-09 05:10 am (UTC)Those are indeed paper lanterns above the flower beds! The event is free during the day, but on certain nights they open and charge an entry fee. I've never been, but my dad has taken some lovely night photos for the last few years.
